Montclair’s midtown may look a little different in the not-so-distant future, after the Montclair Historic Preservation approved applications for both sides of the Bloomfield Avenue block between Park Street and North Fullerton Avenue.
During the meeting, the commission heard applications from the Bravitas Group for the former PNC bank at 491 Bloomfield Ave., and local landlord Dick Grabowsky regarding the historic Hinck Building at the corner of Bloomfield Avenue and Church Street.
Bravitas Group co-founder Bob Silver told The Montclair Times that the building at 491 Bloomfield Ave., built in 1923, started out as the Bank of Montclair and has been purchased by a succession of banks, most recently PNC up until 2011.
