Academy Square cuts the ribbon on Friday

The public is invited to a reception and ribbon-cutting at the new Academy Square green office complex at 33 Plymouth St., on Friday, Sept. 24, at 6 p.m.

U.S. Rep. Bill Pascrell Jr. (D-8) will be there for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, scheduled for 6:15.

Academy Square was once the Katharine Gibbs School, and before that, the Kimberley Academy. Because it had “good bones,” the building was preserved when the property was bought in 2004. Architect Paul Sionas kept many of the architectural details in his design, and contractor Jack Finn created a green workspace.
